Review of the Press
Devenir
« Preceded by the publication of the videotapes and the book, here comes the first CD-ROM of the
collection "At the Dawn of Life", supervised by Serge Lebovici and Bernard Golse. It is also the first
one that Devenir is taking an inventory of. This first-born was well born, at term, and is worth it. These elements
of baby psychopathology are centered on Serge Lebovici's technique of parent-child interview, on the one hand,
on the theory of attachment and on Mary Main on the other. [
]
This CD-ROM is an event. It is the first one of the kind in psychopathology. It shows a great clinician in
action, who offers his style, his concepts and his interventions to the discussion of a panel of experts of
different sensitivities. We have at our disposal reflections from each of the debaters, and Serge Lebovici's
answers to each remark or objection. The reader can react, and can also evaluate his knowledge, by answering
himself to the 10 questions asked to the debaters. This CD-ROM is also, to my knowledge, the first and to this
day the only pedagogical document on the theory of attachment presenting Mary Main's works and the Adult Attachment
Interview in French.
Finally, an essential and sensitizing training tool, meant for professionals of early mental health and to
students in psychology, paediatrics, medicine and psychiatry, but that can be appreciated yet by a larger public.
Indispensable to any university or specialized service library, this CD-ROM has its place in general libraries,
since it is at the same time an educational and sensitizing document, and a historical one, allowing to attend
to a colloquium, with in its center, the most outstanding personality of baby psychiatry in France. »
